July is passing

It is a quiet weekend here, and still hot outside my walls. I feel my bricks baking in the sun. I am glad Horace (my builder) used the 'white glazed' bricks from his factory, as it sheds much of the heat from the sun. The fishes are very happy and play all day in their ponds. It is a joy to watch from my leaded glass windows. The lotus, lillies and lettuce is thriving in the quiet waters. The flowers and plants are a different story...they are struggling in the daily heat. Mike comes out often to water and give some reprieve, but it is just a matter of survival now. Please Mother Nature, give us a break!
